Kato founded Bluebird Soccer Academy in Uganda’s Kyangwali Refugee Settlement to mentor and empower youth through sports, education, and community support. What began as a response to school dropouts and trauma is now helping young people return to school, grow in confidence and discipline, and transform their families and community. John’s journey reflects the multiplying impact of investing in character-driven leaders who bring lasting change where they live.

Angello Akhol Arun founded Sunrise Agro Business to address food insecurity in South Sudan through sustainable farming and smart market strategy. What began as a small venture cultivating staple crops has already created income, employment, and reliable food supply in his community. Angello’s journey demonstrates how equipping young leaders with entrepreneurial skills empowers them to build solutions that strengthen both livelihoods and long-term food security. 

“I see this as just the beginning. As the business grows, I want to empower even more young people and farmers to see agriculture as a viable path to economic stability.” 

Rombek's launched Aromaro Compound Service in Uganda to address community needs while supporting his family and creating employment. What began as a small lawn-care venture has grown into a business that trains and hires vulnerable youth—many of whom have gone on to start their own enterprises. Grateful for the opportunity to serve his community, Rombek attributes his journey to the foundational principles of entrepreneurship and discipleship he learned at LASS. 

“I know that with hard work, dedication, and a commitment to Christ-like leadership, I can continue to make a difference in the lives of the homeless youth in Gulu and beyond.” 

Kiden overcame displacement, gender bias, and financial hardship to pursue higher education and leadership. A graduate of Makerere University with a degree in Social work, she made history as the first female chairperson of the South Sudanese Students Association. In this role, she used her leadership and discipleship training from LASS to lead initiatives that brought students together across tribal lines through events, dialogue, and community programs that promote unity and reconciliation.

Akilimali founded the Not Ashamed of the Gospel ministry after a life-changing discipleship experience at LASS. What began as a personal calling has grown into a team-led movement conducting evangelism, planting churches, and discipling believers in his community. Now, leading a team of 30 evangelists at NAOGM, Akilimali and his ministry have been on a transformative journey. They’ve conducted crusades, engaged in door-to-door evangelism, and helped establish two churches.

Daniel launched a university discipleship and leadership movement after seeing the need for character-driven leadership among his peers. What began with a handful of students at the University of Juba has grown into a multi-university initiative equipping young leaders across South Sudan. Daniel’s story shows how investing in one student can spark a ripple effect—shaping leaders who influence campuses, communities, and the future of their nation.

Joseline is a university student in Uganda who turned a simple skill learned at LASS into a growing entrepreneurial journey. After refining her business through an entrepreneurial training program, she won startup funding and is now co-leading a poultry and goat farm with a fellow LASS alum. For Joseline, this is just the beginning. The prize money, the partnership, and the network of support have not only given her confidence but also opened doors to even bigger possibilities.
