A Bold New Vision

We have a bold vision that you will likely not find at another organizations: Our desire is to make ourselves unnecessary. While many nonprofits measure success by how long they can sustain their programs, we see it differently. For us, true success is when local leaders no longer need our U.S. operations because they are fully equipped to lead.

2050

For the Year 2050

For too long, traditional aid and charity have focused on “fixing” Africa’s problems instead of implementing long-term solutions. But by 2050, 1 in 4 people on Earth will be African, and half of the world’s youth will live there. The choices we make now will shape the global Church, economy, and culture for generations.

Our desire is to make ourselves unnecessary.

By 2050, leadership, operations, and oversight will rest entirely in the hands of African leaders where they belong.

Built to Lead Flipbook

Our programs are dedicated to unlocking the God-given potential in each student, then journeying with them as God reveals His plan for their life.

Built to LEAD:
A Six Year Vision for Change

The Build the LEAD campaign is 4africa’s six-year comprehensive fundraising initiative through June 2031 to expand our Christ-centered leadership development through East Africa. Through three strategic investment areas, we are building the foundation for an African-led transformation that will last for generations.

Strategic Investment Areas:

1. LEAD Academies
2. LEAD Network Support
3. Mission Operational Support

LEAD ACADEMIES | GOAL: $22,870,000

Identify Influence

Our LEAD Academies are the foundation of our LEAD program.

Each year, we select 60 secondary school graduates (30 men and 30 women), ages 16-24, based on academic achievement and leadership potential. Over two years, these young leaders receive a world-class, college-preparatory education alongside leadership development, business skills, and Christ-centered discipleship training and mentorship.

Your Gift Will:

  • Strengthen our curriculum in the areas of leadership anddiscipleship

  • Upgrade available technology, enhancing the student learning experience

  • Construct and furnish 40 new buildings that anchor a community

  • Double the annual student intake from 60 to 120

  • Hire and equip world class teachers and spiritual mentors

MISSION OPERATIONAL SUPPORT AND SUSTAINABILITY |  2031 GOAL $14,839,000

Promote Sustainability

Behind every student is a teacher, mentor, administrator, and visionary. To sustain transformation, we must invest in these people—those who train, disciple, and lead. Students become leaders, who become mentors to younger students, fostering a transfer of knowledge and leadership development. Your partnership helps us maintain a strong focus on spiritual growth and deepening connections with Christ. This reciprocal model ensures sustainability; as younger students evolve into leaders, they perpetuate the mission and create a self-reinforcing cycle of empowerment.

Our program culminates with the LEAD Community Fund—a platform for East African leaders to assume ownership, authority, and responsibility for their long-term success. By creating self-sustaining, discipled leaders at every level, we aim to multiply the LEAD movement and create ripple effects of change.

As we pursue our 2050 Vision to become fully led and funded from within Africa, we are focused on building financial and operational models that are resilient, diversified, and locally rooted. Sustainability isn’t just a financial goal, it reflects shared ownership, regional leadership, and gospel-driven stewardship.

Your Gift Will:

  • Strengthen African-led leadership across all operations

  • Fund salaries, training, and systems that make excellence possible

  • Create long-term sustainability powered by African graduates

After graduating from one of the LEAD Academies, our students join our LEAD Network, receiving guidance on real-world skills, tailored internship opportunities, job placements, and trauma and relationship counseling. We guide them toward one of three pathways: university education, vocational training, or entrepreneurship. For students pursuing careers that require higher education, we assist with scholarship and loan applications. We equip entrepreneurs with the tools and mentorship they need to succeed, helping develop job creators in a region where 60% of graduates struggle to find work in their field. As these entrepreneurs develop over time, we increase our investment to help them employ fellow alumni, solve crucial problems, and drive economic prosperity within their communities.

LEAD NETWORK SUPPORT | 2031 GOAL: $12,291,000

Identify Influence

Your Gift Will:

  • Fund mentorship, career pathways, and alumni
    connections

  • Launch new businesses, churches, and schools through
    alumni

  • Multiply impact far beyond a single student into families,
    communities, and nation
